Really excited to see that this film is getting a 'proper' UHD 'all bells and whistles' release with extras and the attention it deserves. I would recommend watching in the original mini-series version, not just from a nostalgic personal perspective (as this is the way I originally saw it), but also because I feel it gives the full credit to Stephen King's original novel which documents a whole town, delving into the characterisations and details of the individual citizens. As the write up explains, this mini-series 'scarred a generation' and I can certainly vouch for that! I won't go into spoilers, but certainly some of the scenes from part 1 (I was too scared to watch part 2) are etched into my memory and made sure I slept under the covers for weeks afterwards. I'm looking forward to watching this in UHD, but also looking forward to watching the various extras on offer with this release. Thank you Arrow for releasing this wonderful slice of nostalgic horror from the 1970s!
